BTS (also known as the Bangtan Boys) is a well known South Korean boy band consisting of seven members, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. They were formed in 2010 and debuted under Big Hit Entertainment, a widely known South Korean entertainment company that is also in charge of various other famous K-pop bands such as TXT, GFriend, and SEVENTEEN.

Big Hit Entertainment confirmed and announced that the South Korean artist, V from BTS went to the hospital on the 15th of February, with a sore throat and has tested positive for Covid-19 after taking a PCR test. Big Hit stated that “V completed two rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations and is not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat, he is currently undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further guidelines from the health care authorities.”

In fact, V is the fifth member of the well known K-pop band to be tested positive for the coronavirus. Members RM, Jin, and Suga had also tested positive back in December, whereas Big Hit confirmed that another member, Jimin, had been tested positive on the 31st of January. They have all fully recovered since then (4th of January for RM, Jin, and Suga, and the 5th of February for Jimin).

BTS is currently in an “extended period of rest” due to the previous and current circumstances regarding their members being diagnosed with the coronavirus. Not much is known about the group’s current situation as there have not been any new updates on the group’s Instagram page. With all that said, their agency, Big Hit, confirms that the group will make a comeback for their in-person concert in Seoul in March of 2022.

Since the news broke, ARMYs (BTS’s fans) all around the worldhave taken to social media such as Twitter and Weverse to share their messages of love and encouragement for V, wishing him a quick recovery.
