Mr Beast planting 20 million trees

On October 25th 2019, Jimmy Donaldson, a YouTuber with over fifty million subscribers, also known as Mr Beast, impressed environmental activists on social media. He is widely known for his popular, expensive, and daring challenges on Youtube, but now, he is looking to work with different influencers to plant 20 million trees!

Mr Beast made a YouTube video about that, and recruited his team members as well as lots of his fans to help plant trees, but soon he realised that it will take way too long to plant 20 million trees. In order to finish his project, he devised a plan to achieve the goal of 20 million trees planted. He teamed up with the largest non-profit, tree planting organization, Arbor Day Foundation.

They created a fundraiser called #TeamTree, which is a platform that ensures that for every $1 raised by the public, one tree will get planted. All donations will go directly to the Arbor Day Foundation as well, and in just three days, there were six million trees planted as a result of the fundraiser, while Mr Beast personally donated $100,000 to plant 100,000 trees. Now, a year and a half later, the public are still donating to plant trees as well as other YouTubers like Mark Rober, Jeffree Star, and Simply Nailogical. Even Elon Musk took notice of the event and donated one million dollars to the fundraiser.

Mr Beast's videos may seem like regular YouTube videos, but his work provides a platform for everyone to contribute to climate reform.
